The dataset is the product — take it

Everything on this site is available as machine-readable JSON, with the same provenance fields on every record. If you're building tools for families, research, or journalism, this is for you.

Endpoints (v0)

These are static files regenerated whenever the underlying rosters refresh — cache them politely and re-fetch daily at most. v0 means the shape may still evolve; breaking changes will bump the version path.

Record schema

Every facility record carries four mandatory provenance fields — source_record_id (the state's own license ID), source_agency, source_url (the exact query used), and retrieved_at — plus everything the state's roster publishes: name, type, status, address, capacity, effective and open/closed dates, county, coordinates, and the facility's published contact details (phone, email, administrator of record). Fields a state doesn't publish are null, never guessed.

retrieved_at only advances when a record's content actually changes, so diffs against previous snapshots are meaningful.

Use

The underlying facts are public records published by state agencies. You're welcome to use this dataset with attribution to Senior Living Index (seniorlivingindex.org) and to the state agency named in each record. Don't present the data as more current than its retrieved_at dates, and don't use it to imply any endorsement.
